Never the same way again…

March 17, 2008
I see the moon,
The moon sees me
God bless the moon,
And God bless me.

-A nursery rhyme

These words describes exactly how I felt when I saw the moon for the first time two nights ago.
Of course I’ve seen the moon many times before. But seeing it up close, with all its craters, like an old man with countless scars and wrinkles of old really humbles me. How can such a thing that I see almost every night can suddenly awe me in so many ways like never before. How could people deny the existence of God when He’s creations are still marvelous. I can never look back at the moon the same way again.

Pet Peeves

March 7, 2008

Well, I had no idea what they were until Kamy posted it on her blog. Being a kind person that she is, she had to tag me along. I think just in the intention to keep me updating my blog. How kind of her . Anyway, here goes…

A pet peeve (or pet hate) is a minor annoyance that can instill great frustration in an individual.” says Wikipedia. And thats saying alot. If you’d ask me what are mine, I can go one for hours and hours criticizing all the craps people do that get on my nerves. The hard part is to list down in ranks which are the worse…isn’t it? But I’m going try anyway…

  1. Pathetic Inconsiderate Blind Shit Brained drivers. Yes. I hate them. If you are one of them then I’m sorry, I hate you too. These people are like born with a special ability or talent to just give you hell on the road. Road hogging at 50km/h on the fast lane, cutting queues, jumping lanes with no signals on, cruising through the emergency lanes and many more of those kinda things that pisses you off seems to be their specialty. And worst of all, these asses KNOWS the piss you off. They KNOW that you are staring at them in anger. They KNOW that you’re waving or flashing at them to get their attention. Yet, they will just ignore and try to look as if nothing happened, they had done nothing wrong and we’re just idiots who just got our driving licenses yesterday. Well, if you are one of them, I want to let you know that other people want to get to their destinations fast too. If you can’t accept it then I sincerely hope that one day you will crash on something and die and burn in hell. Serious.
  2. E-Mail Forwarders. Come on people, I know your intentions are good. I know you want to let us know that you are alive and trying to keep in touch, but I’m sure there are many other ways to do so. Please don’t spam my inbox with tens of useless e-mails (some of them even empty) and expects me to read them all and believes that if I don’t forward them to other unlucky souls, I’m a horrible friend and bound the be cursed for my entire life. Get real lah.
  3. SMS Spams. These are another breed of screw-ups. They will start the message with “This is a free service” or “This is a free SMS” and ask you to join some silly contest to win an I-Pod or tickets to Jay Chou concert. The moment you try to subscribe, you’d get bombard with 101 sms’ and all of which you have to pay for it. It’s just ridiculous. I don’t need an I-Pod and I don’t listen to Jay Chou or Rain or any other Chinese singers. So stop bugging me. Period.

OK… I’m sure i have a million more, but it’s not coming to my head now. Maybe sometime later I could just continue the list. Till then. Adios.

X Marks the Spot

January 17, 2008

Yeah, for the next 5 years that is.

I’m talking about the next general election which looks like its going to be just around the corner. For myself, election or politics has never interest me. Its just something that happens every few years once, where you can see leaders talking and talking about this and that that doesn’t interest me. What did I care about toll prices and fuel hikes (God, I miss those days).

And yeah, the roads, lamp posts, trees, parks, gardens, benches in the gardens, trees in the gardens, cars, motorbikes, you name it, all decorates with little triangle banners or huge rectangle buntings showing faces of politicians with a huge X at the side. Not to mention the fake smile. But what did I care. Right?

But its not quite the same now I guess. Since I’m paying for my own fuel now days. And the knowledge of the taxes I have to give out (soon). Maybe I’ll vote this time. For the first time that is. We’ll see…

Anyway, for anyone who haven’t got any idea of their voting status, you can check it out here by just clicking on the image below. Just did mine.

Wet wet Morning…

November 16, 2007

Was driving to work today morning with my sis, and the jam was horrible, much worse even for the usual Semenyih’s standard. About half an hour later, still stuck in the jam, we saw what was the hold-up was all about. There was water shooting up almost 80 feet in the air, most likely from what was a fire hydrant and a car few feet away from it. All you need in another weekday morning. Especially in Semenyih. AND when you’re already late for work.

Crap.

50 metres away

10 metres away

There...

11 sites shut down by MCMC

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 11 websites, including those created by bloggers, have been shut down by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) this year for contravening rules and regulations concerning the publication of information on the Internet.

Energy, Water and Communications Deputy Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor said two cases have also been brought to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for action.

He added the Government could take action under Section 211 and 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 against owners, operators or writers of websites who misused the Internet to spread slanderous comments, insulting the country’s leaders, religious sensitivities and race.

Those who broke the law could be slapped with a RM50,000 fine, one year’s jail or both, he said.

Sharper than a blade

October 22, 2007

Soft you may be

Boneless yet hard as steel

Pen is mightier than sword

Tongue is mightier than any

Mean not you may be

A cut will hurt like any

Pull the nails out

The holes are more than many

Even if its not meant to be

Sorry you may say

For some words are not meant to stay

Yet the pain does not stray

Its too deep in to stay

My handphone is dead

October 18, 2007

Its a long story. I’ve always wanted to get a new hand phone, and a good one that is. And finally after so long, I’ve managed to collect enough finances to do so. Then it came to the “Nokia or SonyEricsson” debacle. And that took me quite long time to come with a decision. Nokia offers a smartphone, which can do a lot more that any other normal hand phones. There are many 3rd party applications that can be installed on its Symbian platform which makes it really practical and a lot of fun. But the only setback is Symbian OS’s are known for its instability. Hangs and virus attacks are a common issue. SonyEricson on the other hand is a product that is really moving ahead. I remember Sony used to come up with its fugly designs. Same as the crappy designs by Ericson. But when the two companies merged up to make handphones, it was like magic. Ericsson with its stable network hardwares and Sony with their innovative ideas and cool designs.

(Finally)I’ve narrowed down my list to Nokia N73 and SonyEricsson K810i. Both around the same price range, one is better on this aspect, the the other was better on another acpect. In the end, with Laj to company me, we went the hand phone retail shop and I got the SonyEricsson, after deciding that no matter how good the funtions are, hand phones are useless if it keeps on hanging (wooo!). It was a moment of joy (and relief) for me. Finally I have my new phone.

But that joy was temporary. Few hours after that, my brand new K810i starts to hang everytime I open a file from the memory card. At 1st I thought it was something minor, but it happened more and more regularly and its starts to irritate. So a few days after that I went back to the shop to get it fixed. It seems that me M2 card was corrupted and i got a new replacement card. After that, the problem seems to be solved. Yet it was too early to breath happily…

Then it happened, I was heading for break-fast with Laj, when my phone suddenly restart while I’m sms-ing Kamy. And after that it just wouldnt start. Tried and tried over and over again but it just seems dead. I was flabbergasted. I mean, i spent over a thousand dollars on that thing and in less that a week, its dead! Went to the shop again later that night, and they claim that the software was out, and that they need about 1 hour to fix it. Fine, get over with it, I even had to pay rm15 for it. And after all that, on the way back,it happened again. The phone went dead. I was really pissed and went the next day to the warranty center in KL. Found out that it had some hardware issues and it takes somewhere around a week to get it fixed.

So here I am, without my brand new phone…
